Visa Fees Reductions

Please note that the following categories can pay a reduced visa fee:

  • Children aged 6 to 12. The visa fee will be €35.
  • The cost for the residence permit for children aged 16-18 will be:
    • €50 if the application is processed within 30 days.
    • €200 if the application is processed within ten days.
  • Nationals of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Russia, and Ukraine in normal processing time circumstances. The visa fee will be €35.
  • Nationals of Russia and Ukraine in urgent processing time circumstances. The visa fee will be €70.

How to Pay the Latvia Visa Fee?

You can pay the visa fee in person or on the day when you submit the application. This depends on how the Latvian embassy or visa office in your country operates— you can contact them beforehand and find out the details. After you complete your payment, you receive a document you need to submit as proof that you have paid the visa fee. You must add this document to the other Latvia visa requirements for your visa application process.

Who Is Exempt From Paying the Latvia Visa Fee?

The following exemptions for the visa fee payment can be made according to the Immigration Law in Latvia:

  • Children under the age of six.
  • Students who are accompanied by teachers for a school trip.
  • Researchers who want to visit Latvia for scientific and research purposes.
  • Non-profit organizations with members under 25 that want to attend a seminar or conference in Latvia.

How Much Does a Visa Extension in Latvia Cost?

You can extend your Latvia visa if you have strong reasons, such as force majeure or humanitarian reasons. Usually, for your first extension request, you may not be required to pay a fee at all. However, if this is your second request and depending on your reason for your extension, you may be required to pay a fee between €30 to €60.
