Here are all the steps you need to follow to apply for an Angola e-Visa (online visa): 

  • Fill out the Angola visa application form.
  •  Download the requested documents.
  •  Wait for a confirmation email.
  •  After arriving at the port of entry in Angola, you will be issued your final visa.

If you do not qualify for an online visa, you need to follow these steps: 

  1. Contact the embassy/consulate of Angola in your home country.
  2. Download the Angola visa application form, complete it, and sign it at the end.

  4. Submit all the required documents at the embassy/consulate of Angola.
  5. Wait for a response.

Angola Visa Requirements

To apply for an Angola visa, you must submit these documents:

  • A valid passport for the entire duration of your stay in the country. 
  • Fully completed and signed Angola application form (two copies).
  • Recent passport-sized photo of yourself.
  • Proof of accommodation in Angola.
  • Health insurance that covers your entire stay in Angola.
  • A bank statement document.
  • Copy of your plane ticket along with proof of entry and exit dates of Angola.
  • Travel itinerary.
  • A letter of invitation from a host in Angola.
  • Civil status documents.
  • Birth certificate (if applicable). 
  • A criminal record document.
  • Medical certificate. 

The embassy/consulate of Angola may request other additional documents, so make sure you contact the embassy before submitting the documents.  Note: Any missing document can lead to the denial of your visa. 

Duration of an Angola Visa

Holders of an Angola e-Visa visa can use the visa within 60 days from the issuance date. The e-Visa enables its holder to stay in the country for a period of 30 days. The visa is valid for one or multiple entries (depending on which entry the county issues). If you want to stay longer than 30 days in the country, you must either:

  • Apply for an Angola tourist visa.
  • Re-apply for an Angola visa.
  • Apply for a different Angola long-stay visa.
  • Apply for an Angola residence permit.

Long-Stay Visas for Angola

Angora has different types of long-stay visas that you can apply for depending on the purpose of your stay in the country:

  • Ordinary Visa.
  • Student Visa.
  • Business Visa.
  • Work Visa.

Ordinary Visa

The Ordinary visa is a type of visa that is issued only to American citizens. This type of visa has a validity of two years. To apply for an Ordinary visa, you must submit the documents listed below at ‘Angola Visa Requirements’ and these additional documents:

  • A letter addressed to the embassy of Angola in Washington. This letter must explain the purpose of your visit. Make sure you notarize the letter.
  • The Yellow Fever Vaccination Card.

The processing time for an Angola Ordinary visa is from five to seven working days.  In addition, American citizens who are planning on visiting Angola for Business purposes must submit the following documents:

  • A document proving that you are financially stable and that you have an amount of at least $200 for each day that you spend in Angola.
  • A document of the legal establishment of the company.
  • A copy of the business permit.
  • A document that proves that you have finished the payment of the current taxes.

The processing time for an Angola Business visa is from five to seven working days. 

Student Visa

An Angola student visa is issued to applicants who want to study in Angola. This type of visa is issued for the duration of your studies. To apply for a student visa, you must submit these additional documents:

  • A letter of approval from the University of Angola to which you have applied.
  • A document statement dredging that you will respect all the Anhola laws.
  • An internship program (if applicable).
  • A training contract (if applicable).

Work Visa

An Angola work visa is issued to foreign citizens who are willing to work in the county. To apply for a work visa in Angola, the applicant must submit the following documents:

  • A letter issued from the company that requested the visa.
  • An academic and professional certificate.
  • A work contract from a company that is in Angola.
  • A Curriculum Vitae.
  • A letter of approval from the Ministry of Public Administration, Employment, and Social Security.
  • A copy of the permit for the authorized economy activity.
  • A document evidence that you have finished the tax obligations.
  • A copy of the Official Gazette of the Republic, publishing the company’s by-laws.

Residence Permit for Angola

An Angola residence permit allows you to stay in the country for longer than one year. To apply for an Angola residence permit, you must submit the requested documents to the Angola Immigrant department or the embassy of Angola.  There are two types of residence permits in Angola you can apply for depending on how long you plan on staying in the country:

  • Temporary residence permit. A temporary residence permit is issued to applicants who are planning to stay in the country for five years. The temporary residence has a duration from one to three years.
  • Permanent residence permit. A permanent residence permit is issued to applicants who have stayed in the country for ten years with a temporary residence permit
